  27. I had difficulty with an older UnixWare machine that couldn't quite handle
  28. RTS/CTS properly with modem conpression turned on.  I suspect that the CPU
  29. was a little slow in lowering its side of the handshake, and that there
  30. wasn't enough buffer.  This was with internal Sportster V.90 modems.
  31. Speed was locked at 38400 on both ends.  One end would typically connect at
  32. 21600, and the other end at 33600.

  34. I was never able to transfer largish files over PPP in one direction,
  35. toward the Unix box.  The other direction was okay.  This was using Kermit-95
  36. to ckermit 6.190, I think.  I found that reducing the packet size in the
  37. "bad" direction to less than 256 was very helpful, and I suspect that
  38. there was a modem buffer of 256 bytes.
